Terms and conditions

What you are buying, what you get, and what happens if you cannot come.

Paying the entry fee means accepting these terms and the event Rules.

1. Who is charging you

The full merchant details are at the top of this page. The charge on your card will show the club’s name, not the event’s and not an intermediary’s.

2. What you are buying

What you pay for is a place in Travesía a Nado Batalla de Rande on the announced date, with the services the Rules attach to taking part: organisation and control of the swim, support boats, feed stations, accident insurance and whatever kit is announced for that year.

Separately, and only if the entrant wants them, places for companions on the boats can be bought, along with the services in each package. They are optional, they are requested from the locker and they are not part of the entry.

No physical goods are sold and nothing is shipped to an address.

3. Prices

The entry fee and each companion package price are set by the club for every edition and shown in the locker before paying, with the exact amount that will be charged.

Prices are in euros, are final and include any applicable taxes. Neither the club nor the payment provider adds a surcharge for paying by card.

4. How and when you pay

The entry fee may be charged in two moments: a deposit, when the organisers confirm the place, and the remainder before the deadline shown in the locker. Both dates are always on screen next to the amount.

Companions are paid in one go, and only after the organisers have reviewed and accepted them: until then there is nothing to pay.

By card

Card payments are made on the payment provider’s page. Pressing the button takes you out of this application and into the provider’s page, with the amount and a reference number for that payment. Card details are typed there and do not pass through this application, which neither receives nor stores them.

Once the payment is confirmed, the locker reflects it and a PDF receipt becomes available with the amount, date, time, payment method, the last four digits of the card and the reference number.

By bank transfer

Where the club has not enabled card payments, the locker shows the account details and a reference unique to each entrant. That reference must go in the transfer description: without it we cannot tell whose payment it is.

5. What you get and when

Nothing is shipped, so there is no delivery time and no delivery cost.

  • The place is confirmed as soon as the payment is recorded, normally straight away. If anything is delayed the locker says so and the organisers check it; a payment that has been made is never lost.
  • The payment receipt can be downloaded from the locker, as a PDF, at any time.
  • The service itself is provided on the day of the event, at the announced date and place.
  • The race number, the kit and whatever each edition includes are handed over in person, at the place and times the organisers announce for collection.

6. Refunds

The refund policy for the current edition is as follows:

No refunds of the entry fee will be given, except in the case of injury or illness duly evidenced by a medical certificate submitted by Friday, 30 April 2027 at the latest. In those cases 50 % of the amount paid will be refunded. Outside that deadline no refund of any kind will be given. Whatever was paid for guests is refunded in full: it is a service that will no longer be provided. €6.00 in handling costs is deducted from any refund.

Withdrawals are requested from the locker itself, where you can also see how yours stands. Whatever is due is refunded through the same channel the money came in: what was paid by card goes back to that card, and what was paid by transfer, to an account in the payer’s name.

If you cannot find your case, or the amount refunded does not look right, write to us at info@batalladerande.com.

7. Right of withdrawal

An entry is a leisure service tied to a specific date. Under article 103(l) of the Spanish consumer protection act, the fourteen-day right of withdrawal does not apply to this kind of contract.

What does apply is the refund policy in the previous section, which the club maintains on its own account and which may be more generous than the law requires.

8. If the event is called off or postponed

The crossing is swum in open water and may be called off or changed for safety: the state of the sea, the weather, a decision by the maritime authority or the natural park, or any other event beyond the club’s control.

If that happens the club will write to every entrant and say what is being done with what has been paid. An event called off by the organisers is not treated as an entrant withdrawing.

9. Support and complaints

For any question or complaint about a payment, write to info@batalladerande.com or call the phone number at the top of this page. You will get an answer by the same channel and a record is kept.

If the answer does not satisfy you, you may go to the consumer services of your region or to the corresponding municipal consumer information office.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Anything not covered here is governed by the event Rules, which form part of the relationship and can be read from the link at the foot of this page.
